mr. olschlager’s career focused on the authentic restoration of existing structures adapting them for contemporary uses. the work creates a dialogue between contemporary and traditional design. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

mr. olschlager worked on a large scale mixed use re-development project called riverplace on the mississippi river. he completed a number of historic preservation\/adaptive re-use projects including the fine line museum cafe, the langdon building adaptive re-use project and the glam slam night club in the minneapolis warehouse historic district. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

mr. olschlager worked on a number of restoration\/adaptive re-use projects including the el capitan theatre in los angeles, california; the miles playhouse in santa monica, california; and the frank lloyd wright ennis house in los angeles, california.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

mr. olschlager worked on urban design projects and historic preservation projects including the international museum of surgical sciences in chicago, illinois and the paseo colorado redevelopment project. the paseo colorado redevelopment project is a 3 block long makeover of a failed urban mall called plaza pasadena. the city allowed the construction of plaza pasadena, a 2-story internalized mall, in the heart of its edward bennett designed civic center. the paseo colorado redevelopment project restored the original 1926 bennett plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

nakada + associates architects, los angeles, california 2001-2012<\/p>\n\n\n\n

mr. olschlager worked on large space urban plans including union station – los angeles, stanford university law school housing quadrangle, and the adaptive re-use of the original agriculture buildings used as a research station for the southern california citrus industry on the university of california riverside campus. major redevelopment projects include sunset + vine mixed use redevelopment at the storied intersection of sunset boulevard and vine street and the barker block warehouses adaptive reuse project to loft housing. the sunset + vine project included restoration of the historic abc studio building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
