gordon olschlager practiced architecture in minneapolis and los angeles from 1978-2013 and currently resides in minneapolis. mr. olschlager has pursued his passion for art in retirement. he obtained a minor in art while studying architecture. his work explores the space between sculpture and painting as an homage to the innovative artists, designers, and architects of the early 20th century.

his art series began with freehand sketches. from the sketches he prepares technical drawings similar to architectural working drawings. the individual pieces are built, painted and then assembled like a building construction process.
