fennimore county government center, Agincourt, IA 2004

the fennimore county government center project was done in collaboration with mr. olschlager’s college professor ronald ramsey. ramsey created a fictitious town to use as a didactic tool for students to learn about how towns develop and evolve overtime. he invited mr. olschlager to participate in the project. mr. olschlager suggested to do the county courthouse since he had designed a number of them throughout his career. however, professor ramsey had already designed a historic courthouse. mr. olschlager suggested the historic courthouse would burn down in 1962. mr. olschlager’s project would be to replace it with a modern courthouse that would span over the ruins of the historic building.
