gordon olschlager residence, minneapolis, mn 2013

mr. olschlager retired in 2012 and decided to move back to minneapolis where his career began. he purchased a lot near the city’s chain of lakes and parkway system. the design for his home was inspired by the los angeles case study house program. the case study house program featured innovative plans and construction methods. the homes were on public display prior to being sold as private residences. mr. olschlager wanted to build on that legacy. his home is built utilizing innovative insulated concrete forms (icf); translucent wall panels to allow daylight to penetrate the interior; and recycled materials for counter tops and wall tile.
